On 28 November 2023, our Tenterden Mayor Cllr Sue Ferguson, Deputy Mayor Cllr Andrew Holcombe joined with Ann Beaven of Tenterden Royal British Legion, Flight Sargeant Arron Spice, family and other community supporters in St Mildreds Church to celebrate a special birthday.
Colin Deverell, our Legion d’honneur recipient and Tenterden Social Hub member was 100 years old. Colin very much enjoyed his special ‘secret’ surprise and both Radio Kent and BBC South-East interviewed him on his special day. King Charles and Queen Camilla’s birthday congratulations were on display too.
