Providing a range of services – delivered at our Hub, and in your own home – so that you can continue to enjoy life and live independently.
Tenterden Social Hub & Dementia Centre (TSH) has been supporting our local community and rural areas for over 60 years, providing a safe and welcoming environment for elderly, disabled and vulnerable adults from 18 to 101 years of age.
We are unique in our community and our mission is to prevent social isolation and loneliness, especially prevalent in rural communities like ours.
We strive to ensure that individuals can continue to remain as independent as possible and at home where they want to be.
We are open and welcome to all and promote equality and diversity in our organisation.
We have a superb history of delivering quality services. Tenterden Social Hub & Dementia Centre is a proud recipient of the Mayor’s Award for our community support during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We enjoy the kind assistance of our many partners and individuals who help to fund us and champion our support for the Tenterden Community.
What our service users say...
“Your amazing meal delivery service”
I do not know what my mother (or I) would have done without your amazing meal delivery service. The volunteers have been so very patient, being prepared to rap on her window and wait for her to wake up and come to the door rather than not deliver the meals.

“I am enjoying them, especially the puddings..!”
Thank you very much to everyone who cooks the meals and delivers them. I am enjoying them, especially the puddings which I do not normally eat!

“There is good and varied choice for all tastes”
My brother in law is very happy with his meals. I really don’t think we can think of any improvement in the service. The meals always look tasty and are delivered hot and always by a very friendly person. There is good and varied choice for all tastes and Jo is always very helpful if any problem arises. Well done Tenterden Social Hub.

“really look forward to coming”
I belong to a club in Swanley which I attend when I stay with friends and am new to the Hub. I have to say the Hub is so much better! I’m amazed at what we do. I have started to make new friends and really look forward to coming – you are all amazing!

“I do not know what I would do without it”
I love coming to the Hub two days a week. When my dear husband died I sat around the house feeling sorry for myself, now I look forward to coming and making friends, doing crafts and to a lovely lunch. The transport picks me up and are helpful when getting on and off and we go on lovely trips. I do not know what I would do without it.

The Hub is a very caring day service and the activities are varied and enjoyable. All staff are very considerate and thoughtful. The gardening and the singing is very good for our mental health and I really enjoy a lovely home-cooked meal!

“I enjoy all of the activities as they are so varied”
It is nice to socialise with others and to bounce ideas off of each other to solve problems. The staff are very friendly and I enjoy all of the activities as they are so varied. My visits are very enjoyable with a wide selection on the menu, nothing is too much trouble and the kitchen team are very accommodating. I come in by the service bus and I like to keep my independence. I really missed attending during Covid, but the staff kept in contact with the members just to check up on and to have a chat. We also go on local trips to get out and about and they even gave us a small gift for Easter.

“thanks… for the kind and patient care we receive”
I was diagnosed with Vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease 8 years ago and as my condition deteriorated I was looking for a non-threatening environment where I could enjoy some time and give my husband the opportunity to manage some work at home. COGS Dementia Group at the Hub has done this. All aspects of my contact with COGS have been caringly and sensitively provided… we are always amazed at the variety and depth of activities that are provided. I particularly love singing and making things and the team games… We would like to express our thanks to everyone at Tenterden Social Hub for the kind and patient care we receive.

“I like the choice of activities… the friendship and camaraderie”
I like the choice of activities; woodwork, walking outside, trips to the museum, taking photos and the friendship and camaraderie. I am looking forward to my trip to the local social club to play darts. I really like the fresh food, especially the vegetables.
