We are delighted to announce that Kent Community Foundation is funding our Tenterden Green Group in partnership with Ivy Court Surgery, Tenterden and the Patient Participation Group.
There is increasing evidence to show the benefits from gardening and green community projects, such as reduced stress levels and improved mental health and wellbeing. The Tenterden Green Group is a joint initiative with Ivy Court Surgery in Tenterden, led by Dr Pillai who is a key advocate of mindfulness and who supports community mental health.
Our heartfelt thanks to local Tenterden Horticultural Society and Tenterden Wildlife Trust for providing their expertise and hands-on support. The group meets weekly on Wednesdays at EC30 Health and Wellbeing Centre, Recreation Ground Road, working as a cohesive team in the green spaces and terraces surrounding EC30 and Ivy Court Surgery.
By working in a green environment, planting seasonal beds and maintaining the plants and grassed areas, the group enjoys a host of positive benefits. These include enhanced social interaction, support for physical fitness, and the opportunity to develop new skills. Additionally, by contributing to the conservation of the local environment and engaging in nature-based activities, individuals are able to connect more deeply with nature and one another.
Come to EC30 to enjoy a coffee, a browse in our charity shop and see our outside spaces for yourself! All areas are fully accessible and everyone is welcome!
If you would like to join the group, just come along on a Wednesday 11am – 12 to EC30, Recreation Ground Road, Tenterden.

With grateful thanks to our funders, Kent Community Foundation.
