Carers Week: 9-15 June 2025

Championing equality and support for unpaid carers.

At Tenterden Social Hub & Dementia Centre, we’re behind Carers Week 2025.

Carers Week is an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to unite carers, highlight the vital role carers play in our communities and draw attention to just how important caring is.This year the theme is ‘Caring about equality’ and spotlights the inequalities faced by unpaid carers, including a greater risk of poverty, social isolation, poor mental and physical health. Far too often, carers of all-ages miss out on opportunities in their education, careers, or personal lives, just because of their caring role.

Tenterden Social Hub and Dementia Centre celebrates our own Care Support Workers and also provides help and advice to our unpaid carers.

We are passionate that Carers are valued, recognised and fully supported and we are here to help – download information about Support for Unpaid Carers.
